Historical Encounters Days

Our students in grades K-4 traveled nearby to the Loudoun County Heritage Farm for a day of “historical encounters”. The students learned how to make apple cider using a crank and press, how to take wool balls and make them into clothing, how to identify gems & rocks, and many more activities. The blacksmith was amazing when he showed us the red hot iron which he pounded into shapes to make tools, and we all got quite a jolt when the musket was fired by the soldier using gunpowder. It was great weather and a wonderful learning experience for our Lower school students.
