XStem Symposium

The sixth through eighth graders traveled to the D.C. Convention Center for the annual XStem Symposium. Our first speaker, Tim Vanderham, taught us, “Your perspiration must match your aspiration”. It was a great way to start the day and got everyone motivated.  Erin MacDonald spoke about space travels, gravity waves and warp ships. Additionally, she let everyone know that “failing is okay”.  But, the most popular speaker by far, was Jess Loeb.  She is a gaming designer at Play Station, and she explained her path to working on code, console design, as well as, game designing. It was an interesting way to discover how science is real life!
