The students in grades 6-8 traveled to the Kennedy Center to see the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater perform this week. The group had front row seats in the sold-out Opera House to see one of the limited performances. We learned about the background of the organization, how the group has developed over time and how they are working to use the power of dance to bring people together. The performers were amazing, using their bodies in miraculous ways to express themselves. We were honored to be part of their 60th year celebration and hope they return in future years!
