Frogs, Turtles, Snakes, Oh My! Students in grades K-6 had an exciting day outside in beautiful weather at Claude Moore Park to learn about the biotic and abiotic factors in Northern Virginia. The small groups participated in a nature journey, a pond walk and a live animal show. In addition, each student had the chance to visit hands-on stations to interact with turtle shells, feathers, claws and observe tadpoles and insects. At end the day, there was an explore/play area that allowed students to dig like a paleontologist and create their own animal sounds using wooden instruments and sticks. An educational and wonderful morning outdoors!
