The Newton School Middle School students (grades 6-8) recently embarked on a nautical voyage down the Potomac River aboard a cruise ship. Students set sail in Georgetown and followed the river east while learning from our gracious captain/tour guide about important Washington DC and Virginia landmarks along the trip. The sun was shining, and the cherry blossoms were in full bloom as we enjoyed a gorgeous, breezy Spring day on the water. When we departed our cruise, we took a short hike through one of the trails in Georgetown before returning to the Newton School. We could not have asked for a more beautiful, educational, or relaxing tour along the Potomac!
