We had a very successful service project with students in all grades participating in making lunches for the Embry Rucker Shelter in Reston. Our hardworking students made over 400 turkey or ham & cheese sandwiches, labeled with the ingredients and “eat by” date, and included fruit and granola bars in the meal assortment. Students also decorated the brown bags with positive messages – designed to brighten the day of the lunch recipient. Many thanks to all of you for your generous contributions – that was a lot of bread and deli meat!!
All in all, this was a positive experience for our school and hopefully, we all learned a little more about helping others in need. Check out our pictures of the event on our Facebook page!
