Responsible Social Media Use

On Wednesday, Officer John Miller from the Crime Prevention Unit of the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office arrived to speak to students in grades 5-8 about “Responsible Social Media Use’. He did an excellent job covering important topics such as oversharing of information, where information goes on the Internet (it never goes away!), cyberbullying, what someone can learn from what you post, and fake information and how to spot that. The overall messages were 1) Think before you share 2) Tell a trusted adult if you see something that is not right 3) Be responsible since the information never goes away.  It was an education, relevant and greatly appreciated presentation. Thank you so much to the Loudoun County Sheriff Department and Officer Miller!!
