Food Bank Trip

Our 4th graders delivered almost 400 pounds of food and supplies to Loudoun Hunger Relief in Leesburg, Virginia, from our December 2018 food drive at The Newton School. Students worked together to safely transport the many, many items to the scales. The student then took a tour with our wonderful leader of the organization, who explained the mission of the organization – providing thousands of Loudoun county residents in need with healthy meals and valuable supplies. He showed us the staging areas, the food packing centers and waiting areas, while giving many details about the process of food sourcing and delivery. The students were super engaged, asking many insightful questions. All in all, this was a great learning project for our students while giving back to our community. Many thanks to all families who contributed!!
