Over the past week all of our Newton School students worked together to clean up our community! Our Middle school worked with Reston Association to clean up the South Gate community center and surrounding neighborhoods, the 3rd and 4th grade picked up trash and recyclables all along a creek in North Reston, while Kindergarten through Second grade picked up litter along the Sugarland Run trail! Our students took great pride in helping their community and learned the value of volunteering! Students were surprised by the amount of litter that existed in these areas and recognized the importance of cleaning and protecting our community and environment! Overall students filled 9 entire bags of trash and 7 full bags of recyclables! Many thanks to the Reston Association for aiding us on this valuable service project!
